You must notify school by 9.00am if your child is going to be absent from school because they are unwell or have a routine doctor’s or dental appointment. Telephone notification is essential as emails may not get read until after school.
Don’t send children to school with upset tummies. You must keep your child at home for 48 hours after vomiting, and for 48 hours in cases of diarrhoea.
Let us know if your child has asthma and they will need to have an inhaler kept in school (labelled with their name). We do not administer any other medication apart from Piriton for allergy relief. We also need to be informed of any allergies.
Changes to Legislation Regarding Holidays in Term Time
During the 2011 -12 academic year almost 10% of absence from school in England was due to parents taking their children on holiday during term time. This high level of absence has led the Government to make important changes to legislation.
