Although separately governed and managed, the relationship between the Infant and Junior school is strong.
Throughout the school year infant and junior school children interact, watching concerts and performances, and Year 6 often help with infant activities.
Year 2 children will find that transition is carefully prepared with lots of opportunities to visit the school and meet their teachers before they move up.
Parents wanting to view the Junior School should make a separate appointment.
July 2019 - Year 2 Transition Activity
As part of Year 2/Year 3 transition, the junior children set up several sporting activities to make the new children feel welcome. The Year 5 children kindly set up a 'Multiskills Festival' testing the Year 2 children's sporting abilities and challenging them to improve. The Year 5 children also set up and refereed a 'Football Tournament' for all of the Year 2s. All the children at these two events had lots of fun. Finally, the children got to take part in a 'Netball Taster Session' with Suzanne, who runs an after school club for the children at the Juniors. Again, the children enjoyed these sessions very much.
